“I wish I could live for 100 years”, sounds like the most anticipated wish of all times. You might think, this is going to be fantasy one. As in reality, hardly people live till that age.
What if, you actually live for 100 years or more than that? Its certainly going to be an exhilarating journey you can ever think of. Apparently, Thelma Sutcliffe, a Nebraska woman is the talk of the town. For an oldest living person in America and 7th oldest in the world on celebrating her 114th birthday on Thursday, April 29, 2021 and still counting.
In accordance with the Gerontology Research Group, she earned this recognition after 115-year-old Hester Ford died in North Carolina.

Thelma Sutcliffe, Oldest Women of the Nation:
Thelma Sutcliffe, celebrated her 114-year-old birthday on Thursday, April, 29, 2021with a small party at Brighton Gardens, Omaha. Became the oldest living person in America and 7th oldest in the world after the death of 115-year-old Hester Ford in North Carolina, as per the report of Gerontology Research Group.
She was born on born Oct. 1, 1906, in what then was Benson, Nebraska. At the age of 17, she got married to a man, named Bill Sutcliffe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. However, her husband died in early 1970s and they did not have any children.
She is only left with her nephew, Rev. Warren Sorenson, a 93-year old man who lives in Arizona. Though due to this covid-19 pandemic, he could not turn up at his aunt’s birthday.
Other than that, she is fond of her longtime friend, Luella “Lou” Mason. They have an adorable bond. Previously, Mason used to visit her once in a week. For the time being, it has come to a halt because of the pandemic. And Sutcliffe expresses how much she loves spending time with her every time when she asked Mason ‘Are you going to eat with me today?’.

Mason says Sutcliffe is very sharp. Though with each passing day her eyesight and hearing abilities is fading. Also, she is particular about her appearances especially while clicking photographs.
And she is never worried about her old age. She is quite a sweet and amazing person. Mason further said “She always says, ‘What good does it do to worry?’. This is how she makes every single day beautiful.
According to the sources, she witnessed and survived the two world wars, and other major calamities. Currently witnessing the pandemic covid-19. And has survived the two subsequent attacks of breast cancer.
