Soon after it was announced that she and her musician husband Patrick Carney were divorcing, Michelle Branch was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with domestic abuse.
The “Everywhere” singer’s arrest was confirmed by Nashville police to HuffPost, and according to the documentation in possession, the amount was set at $1,000. Branch and Carney reps have been contacted by HuffPost.
The prices were first reported by TMZ. According to the source, Branch told police that she had smacked her ex-husband “one to two times.”
The “Everywhere” singer was arrested without incident, and a $1,000 bond was made. On November 7, she is scheduled to appear in court.
Branch accused her husband, the Black Keys drummer, of infidelity in a since-deleted tweet on Thursday. She then posted an emotional message announcing the couple’s separation.
Branch said in a statement that was made available to numerous media sources, “To say that I am absolutely devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family.

Rhys James Carney, 4, and Willie Jacquet Carney, 6 months, are the couple’s two kids; they were married in 2019.
