Joe Biden recently defeated 45th, President Donald Trump, in the presidential election of 2020. He made it a point to reverse many of Trump’s decisions, and promised to bring back civility to national politics. One of the main poll promises of Joe Biden remained to do away with the “Trump Wall”. The wall reportedly cost the government $27 million a mile.
Decision after Presidency
Biden in his poll campaign promised not to build a “single foot” of the Trump wall across the Southern border. Keeping up to his poll promise President Biden froze federal funding of the wall on his first day in office. He also placed a 60 days moratorium to find legal ways to divert the previous funds for the wall.
With the moratorium period long gone, speculations are high about the plans of the Biden administration with respect to the wall. One thing that is clear is the administration has not reversed its opposition to the border wall.
The Way Ahead
With so much uncertainty over the future of the wall, few private individuals are making claims that the Joe Biden administration is Planning to Break Down Southern Border Wall Built by Donald Trump. These claims are not yet verified by the White House or members of the Democratic Party (US).
The future relating to the wall building still remains in limbo. This is mainly because the Biden administration is not yet prepared with its plan to stop illegal migration from Mexico. As of now, President Biden seems preoccupied with the pandemic. Meanwhile, the White House press secretary made very vague statements when asked about the future of the “great” wall of America.
So What will happen to The Wall?
Throughout his campaign, Joe Biden always maintained that he was not in favor of tearing down the wall. “There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration,” he said. So the current deadlock over the wall’s future seems to be arising mainly due to a lack of information on the part of the government. But, one thing that seems clear is the President in his right mind would not like to increase the spending on Trump’s wall.
