Scotland became the first country in the world to provide period products free. And the Period Bill was introduced by Labour MSP Monica Lennon. So, Lennon had been putting up a lot of effort for the campaign of Period Poverty since the year 2016.

She went on to say that it was a practical and progressive piece of legislatio. That made it all the more important due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.

So, period poverty is the inability of menstruating women and girl who are unable to affor. And pay for the products that are required for maintaining menstrual hygiene. Women and Children who have no access to sanitary products, safe, hygienic spaces in order to use them. And the right to manage menstruation without shame or any social stigma.

So,2.3 billion people spend their lives without basic sanitation services and in developing countries. But,Only 27% of people have sufficient handwashing facilities at home. And girls with special needs and disabilities do not have access to the facilitie. And they need care and health for proper menstrual hygiene.

How did the French Education Higher Minister make such a remarkable decision?

French Higher Education Minister Frederique Vidal said that tampon and sanitary pad vending machines, sanitary towels. And other menstrual products will be made available free of cost for students. At the student residences, Hotels, and university health services in the next few weeks.
