The American teen drama series based on the character of Archie comics which was adapted for The CW by Archie Comics chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre- Sacasa which got produced by Warner Bros Television and CBS studio’s in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics is all set to release its 5th season. The series was originally adapted as a feature film which later got converted into a television drama series in fox.

The series us casting KJ Apa, Lile Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murra, Casy Scott Charles Melton, Reggie Mantle, Vanessa Morgan, Drew Ray Tanner, Erinn Westbrook, Luke Perry, Madchen Amick, Marisol Nicholas, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich and Hiram Lodge.
Season 1 of 13 episodes of Riverdale was released on 26th January 2017 till 11th May 2017. Season 2 got released between 11th October 2017 and 16th May 2018 consisting of 22 episodes. On 10th October 2018 and 15th May 2019 the season 3 of 22 episodes was released. 4th season of 19 episodes was released on 9th October 2019 and ended on 6th May 2020. Season 5 got released on 20th January 2021 consisting of 19 episodes. Season 6 is also renewed on 3rd February 2021.
The season was cut short due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Only 19 episodes out of 22 were released and the last episode gave some hint for the season’s fives storyline.
Season five of Riverdale shows the time Jump of 7 years. The characters are not teenagers anymore. Their flight to save Riverdale is still going on. The Love square of Archie, Veronica, Betty, and Jughead is be explored more. In season 5 it was said that it will focus on Toni Topaz’s backstory.
The Actress Morgan’s real-life pregnancy is also said to get depicted in the storyline of season 5. This confirmation came from Morgan through her tweet wherein she showed her excitement and also showed gratitude towards the showrunners. The story will focus more on the relationship of the characters as they are no more teenagers.
In the story, Archie is a 25-year-old adult working as an FBI trainee. The amazing actress Erinn Westbrook is said to re-join Riverdale in the upcoming season. The season closed the High school story and has taken a time jump of 7 years. The main character Archi is coming back home after serving in the army for 7 years. Episode 4 of season 5 got released yesterday at 8 pm. Fans can watch the same online or on Netflix.
