Lately, whenever we open our Whatsapp we might not see any messages from our contacts but we do see Whatsapp’s new privacy policy and frankly, we don’t like it. Like us, many people are against it and hate it because it is invading user’s privacy.
In this new privacy policy Whatsapp will share user’s information with Facebook and people are angry at this policy and they are leaving this famous messaging software.
This loss for Whatsapp is in favor of other apps like Telegram and Signal especially Telegram.
This year is just starting and just after few days of January fortune is looking good for online messaging software Telegram. Fortune is looking good for Telegram because this amazing texting software has crossed the mark of 500 Million active users and has earned twenty-five Million users only in three days.
This success for Telegram is all thanks to Whatsapp’s nagging into its users business. This amazing news came from Telegram CEO and founder Pavel Durov. Along with this he shared more information so let’s put a light on what he has to say after Telegram touched this mesmerizing milestone.
CEO of Telegram came forward and shared some amazing information
Pavel through his Telegram channel said, “People no longer want to exchange their privacy for free services. They no longer want to be held hostage by tech monopolies that seem to think they can get away with anything as long as their apps have a critical mass of users. Unlike other popular apps, Telegram doesn’t have shareholders or advertise to report to.”
The founder of Telegram then added,” We don’t do deals with marketers, data miners or government agencies. Since the day we launched in August 2013 we haven’t disclosed a single byte of our user’s private data to third parties.”
He also shared the percentage of people who have joined Telegram services from all over the globe as he said, “These new users came from across the globe-38% from Asia, 27% from Europe, 21% from Latin America and 8% from MENA (the Middle East and North Africa).”
The CEO further added, “This is a significant increase compared to the last year when 1.5M new users signed up every day. We’ve had surges of downloads before, throughout our 7-year history of protecting user privacy. But this time is different.”
Whatsapp came into play
Whatsapp didn’t shut itself and it came forward and clarified its new privacy policy with an FAQ page where Whatsapp is describing all its changes.
The FAQ page on new Whatsapp’s privacy policy said, “We want to be clear that the policy update does not affect the privacy of your messages with friend and family in any way. Instead, this update includes changes related to messaging a business on Whatsapp, which is optional and provides further transparency about how we collect and use data.”
Right now we can see Telegram is the safest way to share information and communicate with our families and friends and also for business purpose.
A telegram is a German software and it was founded by two brothers Pavel Durov and Nikolai Durov.
