DJI Osmo Pocket 2 is the successor of the 2018 DJI Osmo Pocket. This weird camera+gimbal from DJI actually proved to quite a useful tool for vloggers.
It has a tiny 4K camera with a 3-axis gimbal. To give a stabilized video and trick shots DJI used the same tech that it uses in its drones.
Price and Availability
DJI has announced a launch event for Osmo Pocket 2 on October 20. The event doesn’t say specifically that it is for Osmo Pocket 2, but the title used suggests that it is for this camera only. Even if the event is on 20th October, you can expect the camera to be available from November.
The original Osmo Pocket was priced at $349. So, the Osmo Pocket 2 should also be priced similarly.
Specifications
There haven’t been many leaks for Osmo Pocket 2. But, there are some speculations that the camera will be the same as the one used in DJI Mavic Air 2. There should be also new features including digital zoom and an improved night shot. Leaks also suggest that there are going to be a lot of new accessories too.
A new Joystick accessory will make controlling the camera’s movement quite smooth and easy. Some other new accessories include a mini tripod and a microphone ‘dead cat’.
Verdict
DJI Osmo Pocket 2 seems to have improved a lot over the original Pocket. The original was in itself a very good camera and the improvements the new Pocket brings over it is quite good. If the Osmo Pocket 2 is priced similarly to the original Pocket, this would be a great camera for all vloggers.
