Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Himesh Patel, and Timothée Chalamet will star opposite J-Law in Don’t Look Up. Don’t Look Up is Adam McKay’s upcoming comedy at Netflix that is shaping up to be a major talent tsunami.
Cate Blanchett and Rob Morgan are already on board with Lawrence. Just as he did with The Big Short, McKay is using the stylistic format of cameos to stud his feature with bold-faced names. Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry, and Tomer Sisley are among those lined up to appear for cameos.
McKay is the writer and director of the film. The movie features two scientists who discover that a meteor is soon going to hit the surface of the Earth. The script moves forward as the duo tries to save the world from this danger.
Jennifer Lawrence and Leo DiCaprio will play the two scientists.
The movie is going to begin shooting on November 19 in Boston. McKay is also producing via his label, Hyperobject, along with Kevin Messick.
WHAT ARE THE STARS PLANNING?
Securing DiCaprio is a major coup as the actor is juggling another commitment. Martin Scorsese’s period crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon has the star busy. Look Up also puts him back in the frame with Hill, with whom he acted in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
Meryl Streep, who appeared in last year’s Oscar-winning Little Women, next stars in The Prom. It is a musical comedy by Ryan Murphy and also features Nicole Kidman and Keegan Michael-Key in the cast. The movie debuts on Netflix on Dec. 11.
Patel broke through to international audiences with Danny Boyle’s Yesterday. He is also currently on screen in Chris Nolan’s Tenet.
