This updated version is remixed by Steven Wilson and recorded with a 50-piece orchestra. Moreover, it was under the direction of composer Christopher Lennertz. He took it to a whole new level.

The song is included in a “super deluxe” box set edition of “Use Your Illusion I + II.” It will come out on November 11. This new album has 63 songs that have never been heard.

Prog rocker Steven Wilson remixed the track. He talked about the new version in September. He said, “My mix of a fully orchestrated version of Guns N’ Roses classic “November Rain” is on the just-announced 30th-anniversary reissue of “Use Your Illusion.”

“The new 2022 version is the same performance as the original. It was mixed to match the original version, but instead of using sampled sounds, a new orchestra was recorded.”

The original “Use Your Illusion” albums were remastered for the first time as part of the new box set. It also has live versions of many songs from the albums and older hits like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

Where did the recording take place?

Some songs were recorded at the Ritz Theatre in New York on May 16, 1991. While others are from the band’s show at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on January 25, 1992.

Wilson had remixed songs by BLACK SABBATH, YES, MARILLION, RUSH, JETHRO TULL, ROXY MUSIC, KISS, and KING CRIMSON before he worked with Guns N’ Roses.

Slash has also said that Guns N’ Roses will soon release “epic” new music. During an interview on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, the guitarist was asked if the band plans to make new music soon.

What did Slash say on the new release?

“At some point, probably sooner rather than later, I want to go into the studio and record a whole new album,” he said. “But other than that, we still have things we need to say.

“So that will come out in pieces over the next, I don’t know, a few months or something like that. So, that’s pretty much it. We have one more tour to do next summer, and then we’ll be free to start working on a new album.”

What was the first version all about?

The first version of “November Rain” was on the album “Use Your Illusion I,” which came out in 1991. It was nine minutes and seventeen seconds long. The accompanying music video. Moreover, it has been watched 1.9 billion times on YouTube.
