World Trigger Season 4 : It can be said without a doubt that Toei Animation is one of the best animation companies to ever set foot in the industry. With titles like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Digimon, the media giant can be expected to produce quality shows and movies. In May of 2014, Toei Animation decided to produce the manga series ‘World Trigger’ into an anime.
The show was scheduled for airing in October of the same year. As of now, 99 episodes of the anime have been aired officially. In this article we will take a look at the 4th season of the anime, the release date and other updates.

World Trigger Synopsis
According to Looper, in Mikado city the people of the community begin to adjust to their bizarre life. After four years since the time a gate opened up allowing monsters and humanoid people called “Neighbors” to come in and attack. Although at first they are helpless against the dangers foisted by these creatures, an organization known as National Defense Agency/Border arrives. Border uses Neighbor technology known as ‘Triggers’ to fight their enemies.
Triggers use Trion, an intrinsic energy that can be found within the body to strengthen themselves and use as a weapon. As people adjust to the presence of Border and Neighbors in the city they begin to prepare themselves and train to fight the aliens.
World Trigger Season 4: News
The final episode of World Trigger season 3, i.e. episode 14 was released on Sunday January 23rd. Since then, fans have been waiting loyally for any sort of news on the show and have been wondering if there is a fourth installment in the works yet.
According to HITC, there is no official confirmation by Toei Animation if there would be a fourth season as of now. Just like the previous two seasons of the show, the third season was also well received by the fans, with some people claiming it to be the best on so far. As of writing, the show has garnered a more than respectful rating of 8.34 on My Anime List.
World Trigger Season 4: Release Date?
As per DualSHOCKERS, we will have to wait for an official statement by Toei to know the status of a season 4 for World Trigger. The third season of the show was released only after a few months of finishing season 2 and if the episode count like season 3 is under 15 then the show can be expected to be released in about a year.
Therefore, the show can be expected to return by the end of 2022 or in early 2023.
Reception of the Series.
According to Wikipedia, the manga of World Trigger was found to be the 20th bet selling manga in a survey done by Oricon in 2016. The manga staggeringly had sold over 1.2 million copies. As for the anime it was ranked 10th in the Tokyo Anime Award Festival’s top 100 TV anime series of 2016.
Although the third season was received well, the first season of the production received criticism. Gabriella Ekins from Anime News Network referred to the adaptation as “incompetent” and “baffling”.
Considering the reception of the third season, it seems that Toei Animation will release a fourth edition of the franchise but as of now, we can only wait for the official confirmation with our fingers crossed.
