One Dead and Juvenile Driver Aarrested in Deadly Crash

According to the police, a Juvenile driver was arrested, suspected of DUI in a deadly crash at Windmill, Torrey Pines.

According to the police’s statement, a juvenile driver has been accused of causing in the southwest Las Vegas Valley of Feb 3, Thursday.

According to the metro police, Approximately at 8.44 am at windmill lane and Torry Pines Drive Clark county school District officers attempted to pull over the unknown juvenile driver of a black 2014 Chrysler Town and Country minivan for a suspected narcotics-related activity near Sierra Vista High School.

When the officers tried to pull over driver over the van sped away at a very high speed eastbound on the west windmill lane near the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and ended up hitting a 23-year-old who was in Red Nissan Sentra, who was traveling north to south windmill lane approaching the intersection with the west windmill lane on a green traffic signal. A crash occurred when the van entered the intersection against a red traffic signal at a high rate of speed striking the left side of the Nissan.

Repercussions of the Crash

The 23-year-old who was driving Red Nissan Sentra was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. The juvenile driver of the van was taken to UMC for treatments as he was seriously injured.

Police’s Statement

According to the Las Vegas police statement the juvenile driver had shown symptoms of drug impairment and has also been booked in absentia for UDI resulting in death and reckless driving resulting in death.

The Nissan Driver’s death marks the 13th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas  Metropolitan Police department’s jurisdiction for the year 2022. The crash remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
