Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino feature in the film.
From February to May 2021, filming for House of Gucci took place around Italy. It had its global debut at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, and United Artists Releasing is set to distribute it in the US on November 24, 2021.
The House of Gucci is Based on a True Story
Maurizio Gucci was shot and assassinated outside his Milan office on March 27th, 1995. Maurizio Adam Driver was the grandson of the fashion tycoon and founder of the Italian fashion brand, Guccio Gucci. He and his wife, Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), had been married since 1972 and were well-known in Italy for their extravagant lifestyle and high-profile fight for control of Gucci. (For a glimpse of Reggiani’s character, consider this comment she once said: “I would sooner weep in a Rolls-Royce than be joyful on a bicycle.”)
They had two daughters as a couple. In 1985, Maurizio left Reggiani for another woman on a “brief business trip,” which turned out to be his departure from their family. Reggiani openly vowed to kill Maurizio after this treachery and the couple’s divorce, making her the leading suspect in his murder.
Inadequate evidence led to a nearly two-year inquiry until a tip in 1997 led to the arrest of Reggiani and the individuals she allegedly hired to carry out the murder. She was found guilty of arranging the assassination of her husband and sentenced to 29 years in jail. She was released in October 2016 after serving 18 years of her sentence.

“Patrizia, why did you pay a hitman to assassinate Maurizio Gucci?” a reporter inquired after her release. Why didn’t you just shoot him?” “My eyesight isn’t too good,” she allegedly said. I didn’t want to be caught off guard.”
Sara Gay Forden’s novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed was the inspiration for Scott’s film. It covers the couple’s fashionable, seemingly carefree lives, the circumstances leading up to Reggiani’s assassination of Maurizio, and the aftermath.

Who Is Designing the High-Fashion Costumes?
The clothing design contributes to the production’s grandeur. Janty Yates, who worked on other Ridley Scott films like Gladiator and Prometheus, chose designs for the adaption that were inspired by the 1980s. The designer addressed the changes in Patrizia’s appearance throughout the film in an interview with Vogue.
Her wardrobe will contain costumes from the beginning of her romance with Maurizio, through their marriage, their divorce, and the trial. Yates is also in charge of putting together the male protagonists’ appearances. Some of the outfits will be genuine pieces from the Italian label’s archives.
