Gold Rush is a reality television series that airs on Discovery and its affiliates worldwide. The series follows the pacer gold mining efforts of various family-run mining companies, mostly in the Klondike region of Dawson City, Canada. The show featured six men from Sandy, Oregon, a small town, southeast of Portland, who due to the economic downturn, have lost their jobs. They decided to travel to Porcupine Creek, Alaska, and prospect for gold.
