The Plot of Season 2 of Back to Life

The first season finished with a number of major revelations for Miri (spoilers coming for those who haven’t seen it yet), one of which was that her mother Caroline had been having an affair with Dom, Miri’s high school lover. The real shock came when Miri learned that the battle between her and her friend Lara, which culminated in Lara’s murder and Miri’s imprisonment, was sparked in part by Miri’s best friend Mandy having an affair with Lara’s father John and lying to Lara when challenged about it.

Miri isn’t speaking to her mother or Mandy as the second season begins, but she is enthusiastic about the future: she has a trial shift at the supermarket that could lead to a regular job, things are going well with her next-door neighbor and potential love interest Billy, and she’s found her crimper. She’s even discovering that not everyone in town thinks she’s the monster they thought she was. However, with the return of certain familiar figures, all of that appears to be about to alter.
