Yamaguchi notices that Ippo stills have his wrist weights on, believing that they must have become part of his daily life as he still can fight in a ring. Both Takamura and Ippo pass out as Yamaguchi dresses Takamura’s wounds.

Ippo dreams of praise as he is stabbed with arrows everywhere. The next morning, both the friends wake up believing that the title match was just a dream, but they are brought back into reality as soon as they pick the newspaper up.
