The manga opens in the fictional Warring States period; as Xin, a war orphan fights with his friends to become the greatest general under the heavens. This leads China to stand united for the first time in 500 years.

What Has Happened

In the kingdom of Qin; war orphans Xin and Piao work as servants in a poor village, born during the Warring States period of ancient China. They train themselves regularly and aspire to become the “Great Generals of the Heavens.” Later, Piao returns on the verge of death from the palace to where he was taken for an unknown reason for a few months.

Piao urges Xin to flee to another village where he meets a boy who looks almost like Piao, Ying Zheng the current King of Qin. Eventually, he finds out that Piao served in a double body role for the king and was brutally injured in the quest for the throne.

He is initially enraged but seizes the opportunity by helping the king defeat his half-brother and claim the throne. After winning the struggle, Xin becomes a Qin soldier to lead his aim and later the commander on battlefields leading the armies on the battlefields of the warring states of China.

He successfully wins every battle achieving his missions consistently, to become the “Greatest General in the World”. Xin also helps King Zheng of Qin to fulfill his oath to himself, which is to unite all the warring states of China and stand together.
