The plot unfolds around a normal young boy Asta in a world where everyone is gifted with magic. Even though nobody knows that he doesn’t have any magical powers, he aspires to become the next Wizard King with his gifted friend from the Black Bulls.

What Has Happened
In an orphanage, Asta and Yuno, who are born with immense magical power as well as the talent to control the winds; contradict Asta, who has no such powers. While everyone was practicing magic to utilize Mana, Asta focused on physical strength. Asta with no magic, however, instead focuses on physical strength.
Both of them aspire to become the Wizard King and develop a friendly rivalry. A legendary four-leaf grimoire held by the kingdom’s first Wizard Kingis obtained by Yuno. The latter is a rare grimoire, only given to the most powerful mages.
Despite lacking magic, Asta obtains a mysterious five-leaf grimoire that contains mysterious elf swords and a bodiless member of the Devil race who uses rare anti-magic. Later, Yuno and Asta both join different Magic Knight squads to achieve their goal. Along with Noelle Silva Asta joins the Black Bulls.
While Yuno joins the Golden Dawn and goes on mysterious adventures with an extremist group called the Eye of the Midnight Sun. This group is led by a Devil who is seeking revenge against the injustice done to the Elves by the Clover Kingdom years ago.
In the Spade Kingdom, the Magic Knights then face the Dark Triad, where both the friends find out the masterplan of the devils who control the lives there; that they plan on unleashing devils into their world.
