Ghibli Studios is the best studio out there when comes to animation. Their movies have been critically and commercially successful. We are here to tell you the best movies of Ghibli studio. This list is not ranked from 1 to 10 or 10 to one. All the movies mentioned in this list are amazing.
SPIRITED AWAY:
Spirited Away was released way back in 2001 and was directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie tells the story of a young girl stuck in a ghost town and wants to free her parents from the evil witch. It’s a beautiful story.
MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO:
This movie was released in 1988 and was also directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie tells the story of how a family moved to a new city and the two sisters met with a metaphysical creature named Totoro. Totoro is famous in that town as a legend. It has beautiful cinematography and the movie shows friendship and love.
GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES:
This movie was also released in 1988 and was directed by Isao Takahata. This is one of the saddest movies out there. This movie is not exactly for children but if you wanna teach them about fragility, pride, and historical legacies with a tragedy that broke people. It’s a movie to show.
NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND:
This movie was released in 1984 and was also directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie is a story about a princess named Nausicaa who lives with her people in an apocalyptic world. The movie is beautifully made with an amazing soundtrack.
PRINCESS MONONOKE:
This movie was released in 1997 and was of course directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This movie was a breakthrough for ghibli studies and put ghibli studio movies on the world list. The movie deals with huge philosophical questions about man vs nature.
HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE:
Okay, this list only has Hayao Miyazaki movies other than well, one. Because Hayao Miyazaki has made so many amazing movies. This movie was released in 2004. The story revolves around a girl who has magically become old and how she struggles to live in the Howl’s moving castle. The movie also shows the repercussions of War and how it can affect many things.
