Tesla Crash Victim Identified By Police, Car was on AUTOPILOT, Says Police.
The recent Tesla Car crash accident in the US has started a war between Tesla owner Elon Musk and the police. US police have successfully identified the victims’ names in the accident. Police also claim that the car was on Autopilot mode which has triggered Musk. Check out all the details here
Tesla Crash Victims Identified
On April 18, 2021, a Tesla car accident had occurred in Texas. Two men were killed on spot. According to the police report, the 2019 Tesla Model S was going at high speed, hit a tree, and caught fire. Police allegedly claiming that the car was on Autopilot mode as they could not found anyone in the driver’s seat. The 2 victims were 69 years old Everette Talbot and 59-year-old William Verner.
Talbot and Verner were close friends. On the day of the accident, their car crashed after reaching a few yards away from their set-out place. Due to high speed, the car could not be able to bend and left the residential street of Hammock Dunes Place in the Houston suburb, soon after it hit a tree and caught fire.
Tesla Crash Victim Identified Claims
Elon Musk and US Police are still debating over the fact that the car was or was not on Autopilot mode. According to Constable Mark Herman of Harris County Precinct 4, the deputies: “are 100% certain that no one was the in the driver seat driving the vehicle at the time of impact.” He also told that the victims sat on the passenger seat and rear seat. The investigation is still under the National Transportation Safety Board and National Highway Traffic Safety Board.
One of the victims Everette Talbot was an engineer. His daughter told Daily Mall: “We are going through a living hell right now. As his daughter, I asked everyone to wait for the investigation to be completed.”
In a reply to all allegations, Elon Musk tweeted: “Your research as a private individual is better than professional WSJ. Data logs recovered so far show Autopilot was not enabled & this car did not purchase FSD. Moreover, standard Autopilot would require lane lines to turn on, which this street did not have.”
However, Police do not believe Musk’s statement as Tesla cars have recorded many alike incidents before. In only March 2021, US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigated 27 Tesla cars involved in crashes. The truth will come after further investigations.
