The first consignment of Russia’s Sputnik V arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday, bringing India one step closer to obtaining a third vaccine in its COVID-19 vaccination program.
Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories CEO-API and Services Deepak Sapra said, “We are thrilled to announce that the first consignment of 1,50,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine has arrived in Hyderabad from Russia.”
It comes as India begins a vaccination program for persons aged 18 to 44 years old (those 45 and older were previously covered), despite reports of vaccine shortages in several states.
The first delivery of Russia’s Sputnik V landed in Hyderabad on Saturday, bringing India one step closer to obtaining a third vaccine in its COVID-19 vaccination program.
Deepak Sapra, CEO of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories’ API and Services division, said, “We are glad to inform that the first shipment of 1,50,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine has arrived in Hyderabad from Russia.”

The RDIF has already forged manufacturing relationships with at least five Indian companies to produce 850 million vaccine doses each year.

On Friday, the company’s partner in India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, claimed that imported doses of Russia’s Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine will cost $995.40 each injection.
Every dose comes with a 5% GST included in the pricing.
