Thirteen Iranian ships which belong to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) have came towards U.S Vessel with high speed at “Strait of Hormuz “on Monday, May 10 ,for the second consecutive time in this year, as in response U.S coast guard ship has fired 30 warning shot so as to not to come beyond the limit in the Persian Gulf.
JOHN KIRBY, Pentagon spokesperson has responded to the situation and stated that shots were fired only after the Iranian ships came at full speed came as close as 135 meters to Six U.S vessels. The unprofessional behavior by the Iranian Navy is not new phenomenon, the same behavior was exhibited previously in the last month of April 26, 2021.
An Intense Interaction between U.S and Iran Navy on April 26 2021.
If we go back to April 2 there was an incident citing The HARTH 55 Class, one of Iran Navy ships accompanied by three Vessels harassed two coast guard cutters ,The WARANGELL and Monomoy while they were on a routine Security patrol in the southern Persian Gulf. And those ships won’t leave , to avoid the collision, American ships have warned them for continuous 3 hours and then the ships left.
Again similar interaction between U.S and Iran Navy on April 26 approximately 8 P.M in the evening , it is reported that the U.S ships were performing maritime security operations in the international waters when the three-attack craft came as close as 68 yards to USS ” FIREBOLT ” and also approaching coast guard patrol ship unnecessarily with” unknown intent ” .
Iran ships were also given indication as warning by The U.S. crews issued multiple warnings via bridge-to-bridge radio and loud-hailer devices, but the IRGCN vessels continued their close-range maneuvers. Iran ships ignored and came near to U.S vessel When the FIREBOLT crew alarmed them by firing ,and however after sometime IRGCN vessels went away.
JANUARY 2016 U.S and IRAN NAVAL INCIDENT
Previously on January 12 ,2016 U.S riverine boats came close to Iran’s FARSI ISLAND in Persian Gulf and however, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has seized 2 U.S Navy riverine command boats including USS S. Truman and Charles de Gaulle , as it was reported that U.S ships entered Iranian water as the mechanical fault but it was noted that ships entered due to navigational errors.
There was a verbal communication between JOHN KERRY, U.S secretary of state and MOHAMMAD JAVAD ,Iranian foreign Minister. later Sailors were released by the Iranian government , it was not proved by both the officials regarding how they had lost contact with boats ,after a hectic investigation concluding the ” illegal entry was not a result of a purposeful act”.
Gen Salami have stated earlier in the month of April , “I’m telling the Americans that we are absolutely determined and serious in defending our national security, our water borders , our shipping safety and our security forces” . Issues between the U.S and Iran navy are getting intense day by day after U.S killed a top Iranian military commander, which later Iran has taken revenge by launching a missile strike on U.S military base reportedly in IRAQ.
