In a recent interview with JoBlo, Bautista the WWE star was questioned about his experience of working with different directors and filmmakers. So far Dave Bautista worked with James Gunn, Denis Villeneuve, Zack Snyder. In the interview he mainly spoke about Gunn and Snyder wherein on one hand he praised Snyder and criticized James on the other hand.
Bautista Calling James A Control Freak Is Nothing New.
He did ‘Army Of The Dead’ under Snyder’s direction and was seen in the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ the film directed by James. Earlier also Gunn has faced many criticisms due to his expectations from the actors. This comment coming from Bautista is not coming as surprise to anyone of us. He has his rules which he wants the actors to follow.
Bautista called Gunn a control freak in a statement which he gave during the interview. He says –
“James would be much more, I feel he’s much more involved with performance. I think. Um, I have a lot more flexibility with Zack. Um, James is a control freak. Have you guys all meet with him? He’s very much a control freak.”
Bautista Recalls His Experience With Different Directors.
In another statement that he gave recalling some of his experiences working with James, Bautista says –
“Guys like James Gunn, like I was giving this performance once and he was really upset, not because of the way I was performing. He was upset because where my eyes were looking. SO he told me to pick a spot. I swear to God, Pick a spot, forcus on it and don’t move my eyes… with all these guys they’re just really great at one thing – well, not one thing, Because really, I think passionate about like certian things, we just kind of draw from them and learn from them.”
He also mentioned that he has problem working with control freak until and unless it gives come positive outcome. He even spoke abbot Snyder and praised him for his direction. He says –
” zack just seems to be give you much more freedom and flexibility. And you know, when he’s happy with something because he’ll say cut a certain way, you can see him, he doesn’t give you a whole lot of emotion, but he’ll look at you and he’ll like, shake his head, and you can tell when he’s really happy with something. And every once in a while, I’ll feel self – concious or insecure about my performance and I’ll go and I’ll ask him, ‘ What do you think? Do we need adjustments or anything?’ And he’s like, ‘ No, it’s perfect.”
