2 FBI officers shot an armed man outside CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia on Monday. The officials had a face-off between them and intruders. Top media houses of the US reported the incident a few hours later. See the whole story here.
Intruder Armed Man
The 2 Federal Bureau officers claimed that on Monday at 6 PM E.T they have spotted an intruder attempting to enter CIA headquarters. Guards stopped him. Then officer’s negotiation with the intruder went for an hour. Next, the FBI reported that the intruder was shot during a stand-off. An ambulance also arrived soon at the place after the stand-off. FBI confirmed this to USA Today and also on Twitter.

FBI Washington Field tweeted: “FBI is reviewing an agent involved shooting that occurred at approx. 6 pm on Monday, May 3, 2021. An individual involved in a security incident outside Central Intelligence Agency HQ in McLean, VA, emerged from his vehicle with a weapon & was emerged by law enforcement officers.” However, the intruder is not identified yet. FBI reported that the person has been taken to hospital, and they will inform on his condition later. They have also kept the hospital name secret.
Statements by FBI
FBI officials and CIA spokesperson have given interviews to NBC, ABC, and more. When reviewing on the incident, FBI told: “The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. The review process is thorough and objective, and is conducted as expeditiously as possible under the circumstances.”
Meanwhile, CIA spokeswoman stated to put extra security outside their building: “In coordination with our local law enforcement partners, we are addressing a security situation just outside the secure perimeter of CIA Headquarters by our main gate.” She also added: “Our compound remains secured, and our Security Protective Officers working the incident are the only Agency personnel directly involved.”
This incident reminds the people of a 1993 incident. A Pakistani man named Mir Aimal Kasi shot 2 CIA officers on the spot, outside the headquarters. Kasi started then, he was ‘enraged’ by CIA activities on Pakistan. This shook US and Pakistan relations.
