As much as we would love to see Kathryn Hahn’s quirky character Agatha Harkness in Doctor Strange 2, there has been no announcement. However, there is still a lot of time left till the second installment of Doctor Strange movie is set to come out which is March 25, 2022, so anything is possible.
Who is Agatha Harkness?
Agatha Harkness is a fictional character of Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Agatha is a powerful witch who was recently portrayed by Kathryn Hahn in the Marvel miniseries WandaVision.
Agatha betrays her own coven by practicing dark magic and is sent to prison. But three hundred years later she becomes intrigued with the power Wanda possesses and takes over the role of Agnes, Wanda’s nosy neighbor. Later she discovers that Wanda is the Scarlet witch and is caught by her. Wanda then brainwashes her and sends her to live in Westview as Agnes for the rest of her life.
WandaVision Season 1 premiered on Disney+ from 15 January 2021 to 5 March 2021 with Kathryn Hahn playing the role of Agatha Harkness opposite Elizabeth Olsen who plays Wanda in the series. There has been no confirmation about a Season 2 of WandaVision albeit it was a huge success and viewers keep asking for more so it might happen.
Viewers can still hope to see Elizabeth Olsen in Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness in a whole new avatar.
Will we see Agatha Harkness played by Kathryn Hahn in Doctor Strange 2?
Doctor Strange is another of Marvel comic character that came to life in November 4, 2016, in a movie of the same name as Dr. Stephen Strange portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch. Doctor Strange later joined The Avengers and is currently set for a second installment of the movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that is premiering on March 25, 2022.
That being said, there has been no official announcement of Kathryn Hahn’s character Agatha Harkness making an appearance in Doctor Strange 2. However, when a source asked the actress if she would like to continue playing the role of Agatha, she said “I would be so open to anything. I mean, of course, they run a tight ship over there, so I have heard nothing.”
With Wanda aka Elizabeth Olsen’s commitment to Doctor Strange 2 and many other MCU shows and movies already in production, there has been no news for the second season of WandaVision.
Well, Kathryn did admit that she felt right at home on the WandaVision set and it was easy for her to transition to the superhero universe. Perhaps the creators will change their mind and welcome Agatha till its time for Doctor Strange 2 to premiere.
