The Witcher Season 2 Release Date Teased by Henry Cavill: Geralt and Yennefer’s Future

The production of the second season of Netflix’s popular epic fantasy show, The Witcher has officially concluded. Henry Cavill, who portrays the main character, Geralt of Rivia in the series confirmed the news with the release of few set images. Netflix also released a behind-the-scenes video, where the showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich detailed the production and how the crew brought their craft to life.

The streaming service hasn’t revealed the release date of the highly awaited show. Reports claim that the show may be returning around the summer later this year. Netflix renewed the show back in 2019, even before the premiere of the first season. When the first season premiered, the show became an instant hit, and around 76 million households tuned in to watch the first season.

Henry Cavill might have revealed the release date

The Superman actor confirmed the news that the production has completed. He stars as the monster-hunter named Geralt of Rivia. Geralt realizes that the people in the world are more wicked than the monsters and struggles to live with it. He is destined to be with the crown princess of Cintra, Ciri. In the first season finale, he meets with the princess and embraces her.

The upcoming season will further dive into the depth of these characters and potentially showing the bonding between Geralt and Ciri. This popular web television series is based on the book of the same name from the writer, Andrzej Sapkowski. The Wild Hunt will debut in the upcoming season, which has been confirmed through the leaked images. New leaked images also reveal new characters joining the show.

Among many others, Killing Eve actor Kim Bodnia will appear in fantasy series as Vesemir. Also, Bridgerton’s Adjoa Andoh is joining the cast as the priestess of Melitele. Graham McTavish from Outlander will be portraying the master spy, Dijkstra while Kevin Doyle from Downtown Abbey will play Ba’lian.
