Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Star-Studded Cast Revealed

After seeing all the ups and downs due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it seems the filming of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is finally going to kick off. The upcoming Disney+ series on the classic franchise features Ewan MacGregor stepping on the mantle of Jedi Master and takes place 10 years after what we saw in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Star-Studded Cast Revealed

Previously it was reported that Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role of Darth Vader with Indira Varma from Games of Throne joining the cast. But today Disney officially announced the full star-studded cast of its upcoming venture.

Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Possie, the uncle Owen and Aunt Beru from the Star Wars prequel series are going to reprise their role. The series is also going to introduce some fresh faces including Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjaini, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Rupert Friend, and Benny Safdie. The roles of the newcomers are still under the wrap but the mystery will start to disclose as we move forward to the premiere.

Deborah Chow has been chosen to direct the show, he has also helmed the two super hit seasons of The Mandalorians with handling the scripting for Joby Harold. Shooting for the series will kick off in early April and looking at the post-production work and the VFX we can expect the series to release somewhere in 2022.

 

The Obi-Wen Kenobi seems to massive hit as Disney is putting their best step forward. By choosing the terrific cast the creative team has already created a great buzz around the show. The efforts of the Star Wars franchise to explore the alluring and hidden aspects of the long journey are commendable. There is already a lot of excitement around the show but What Obi-Wan Kenobi brings to the table remains to be seen.
