The Cast of Thor: Love and Thunder

Russell Crowe, an Oscar winning actor, will be joining the cast of Marvel Studio’s movie sequel “Thor: Love and Thunder” which also includes Chris Hemsworth, who will make his return as the God of Thunder along with Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale, who is going to be playing the villain.

Crowe’s role is kept a secret in the hopes of shocking fans with a fun cameo when the film is announced, but Deadline has confirmed he is in the film, citing recent images of Crowe hanging out with the cast all over Australia.

According to insiders, Crowe is among the film’s several surprises, with Matt Damon confirming  to reenact his cameo from Thor: Ragnarok.

For the film, Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor Ragnarok, will return to the director’s chair.

Crowe was previously cast opposite Zac Efron in Peter Farrelly’s  The Greatest Beer Run Ever. He was also recently seen in the thriller Unhinged from Solstice Studios. George Freeman and Goodman Genow of Brillstein Entertainment Partners are his representators.

Chris Hemsworth will return to his role as Thor, Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster. For the first time since The Dark Knight trilogy, Christian Bale will be playing a villain called Gorr the God Butcher in a comic book film.

Tessa Thompson will reprise her role as Valkyrie, the Asgardian queen. Following their roles in Thor Ragnarok, Matt Damon and Jeff Goldblum are also returning.

Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan, who starred in Guardians of the Galaxy, will all reprise their MCU roles.

The movie will be releasing in theaters on May 6, 2022.
