Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles, the legendary singer. Now, he appears to be set to take on the life story of another famous American, controversial boxer Mike Tyson! The series will be called ‘Tyson’.

Furthermore, the script, which had been in the works as a film for a long time, is now being marketed as an authorised limited series. Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas) is on the executive production team for the series which is written by Colin Preston. It will share Tyson’s amazing life story and how, at the age of 20, he made boxing history. This will be Scorsese’s first comeback to the ring in a dramatic project since his legendary Oscar-winning film Raging Bull 41 years ago.

“I’ve wanted to tell my story for a while now.” Tyson said in a tweet. “With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my comeback, now seems like the right moment. I’m excited to work with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the rest of the creative team to offer viewers a series that not only reflects but also encourages and entertains my professional and personal journey.”

About Mike Tyson and his Upcoming Series called ‘Tyson’

Tyson made history as the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history when he won the title at the age of 20 in 1986. For years, he was a big force in boxing and is generally regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time. But it was Tyson’s life outside the ring that drew the most publicity, with the boxer becoming famous for his wild antics. His partner, Robin Givens, accused him of severe mental and physical violence, and he was convicted of rape in 1992, serving less than three years in jail.

In recent years, he has made a comeback, starring in projects such as “The Hangover” film series and performing in a one-man show on Broadway. He’s also been frank about his mental health and drug abuse issues. Tyson most recently faced Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition fight in November, which ended in a draw. The Legends Only League was launched at the event.

For a long time, Foxx has spoken about his involvement in a Tyson film, announcing last year that he was deep into preparation for the role, though it was said to be a film rather than a series at the time.

This is Tyson’s second limited-edition series to be released in the last month. Hulu had previously revealed that it had commissioned an eight-episode limited series about the fighter, but Tyson spoke out against it and said that he would not be interested in it when it was first announced.
