Niall Horan admits that he ‘Felt like a Prisoner’ During One Direction Days!

Niall Horan, a member of One Direction, reflected on occasions when he felt stuck in the group.

Niall admitted on a recent episode of People, Only People with host Dermot O’Leary that he felt “like a prisoner” at times during his boy band days due to the insistence of super fans. The singer tried to describe the daunting situation by recalling specific cases of fans swarming their hotels or following their every move.

Some fans will knock on the car window, making it impossible for them to exit the vehicle, according to Niall.

The singer told that in their early days, he couldn’t understand the fans’ actions. “However, you can’t know what a fan is thinking, which I now completely understand, but at that time, we were like, you’re our age!” Please, let us out! We simply want to take a stroll down the street. You must understand!”

Niall also revealed another shocking experience he and his bandmate Liam had when they just wanted to go to a store one day.

“We reach in Lima at 1 a.m., and as we were going to the hotel from the airport, we passed by a shopping center,” he added. “‘Ok, let’s go there for a walk tomorrow when Louie wakes up’ we decided. The next morning, Louie and I were playing FIFA in our room when Liam came up to us and said, ‘Come on, let’s go.’ And Louie’s curtains were already drawn so he said ‘Just take a look out the window’. The police did a headcount and discovered that there were 10,000 people on the street at all times.”
