Venom Sequel Release Date Pushed To September: Latest Update

Sony has officially confirmed that Venom: Let There Be Carnage release date has been pushed to September. According to the reports, Sony took this step to avoid the clash with Universal’s Fast and Furious 9 in June.

Release Date and everything you Need to Know:

The Venom 2 is now slated to see its premiere on September 17, 2012, nearly 3 months after the original release date. Universal recently announced to drop the 9th installment of its most celebrated franchise Fast and Furious on the same date, forcing a standoff with Sony’s action-packed sequel.

Avoiding Fast and Furious 9, Venom 2 will now encounter Disney’s high-budget Death on the Nile and Universal’s animated sequel of The Boss Baby: Family Business.

This move of the makers made Sony take off Kevin Hart’s action-thriller Man from Toronto from the calendar. Originally Man from Toronto was slated to see its release on September 17th. It clearly shows that Venom 2 is higher on Sony’s priority list and the reason behind that is the success of the original film.

Previously, Sony released the original film in 2018, launching one of the strongest frenemies of the Marvel Universe. With great action sequences and mind-blowing animation, Venom managed to garner $850 million worldwide.

Helmed by Andy Serkis, Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars, Tom Hardy, alongside Michelle Williams and Reid Scott, and introducing Naomie Harris and Stephen Graham. Not just acting, Tom Hardy has also penned down the script of the sequel with renowned writer Kelly Marcel.

In a time where most of the theatres are still hesitating to open again, Venom 2 will be released in 3D, IMAX, and Premier formats, with the hope of attracting audiences to the cinema halls.
