The French American actress, film director, screenwriter, singer, and songwriter, Julie Delpy was born on December 21, 1969. She finishes her filmmaking education at NYU’s Tisch School of The Art. She acted, directed and wrote around more than 30 films. Her films include ‘Europa Europa’, ‘Voyager’, ‘Three Colors : white’, ‘2 Days in Paris’ , ‘Before’ and ‘An American Werewolf in Paris.’

Julie was born in Paris and was the only child of Albert Delpy and Maria Pillet. Both of parents for actors mother was known for signing the manifesto of 343 in 1971. She played the screen mother of Delpy in her film ‘ 2 Days in Paris’. She left the world in year 2009. Talking about her parents Julie says “ I couldn’t hope for better parents.
They really raised me with a lot of art, bringing me to the museum and seeing things that a child wouldn’t see at that age. See Ingmar Bergman movies when I was 9 and totally go for it. And they would bring me to Francis Bacon’s paintings, which I loved: soda and at the same time it’s so wonderful.
She began her filming career at the age of 14 and she was hired by film director Jean – Luc Godard. First film was the ‘Detective’ which she did in the year 1985 under the direction of Jean. She was scene in the film Bertrand Tavernier’ s ‘ La Passion Beatrice’ in 1987. Two years after her first film. She then got nominated for ‘Cesar Award for Nost Prominent Actress.’ She gained international popularity after her film ‘Europa Europa.’
She was interested in directing the films since childhood. Shareit Android herself in a summer directing course at New York University and wrote and directed several short films. Her first short film was ‘Blah Blah Blah’. Written in 1995 and screened at Sundance Film Festival in 2004.
In an interview Julie expressed herself and gave explanation to why she always hated being pretty. She said “ For me, I was very pretty but I was hitting it.” Further she added “ I was hating it because it was relentless. I was constantly under attack…I had to protect myself intellectually l because I was reading a lot, I was extremely the educated, in a certain way, in arts, literature and I was not really treated as such.”
Talking about her journey and where she stands now she says “ Being a pretty girl but strong, but tough, but clear about where I was standing, was not an easy task.” Julie knows she’s pretty but that never mattered to her.
