Netflix’s Stranger Things is one of the most awaited series in 2021. Stranger Things is a science-fiction horror web series created by Duffer Brothers. Currently, Stranger Things is in production for season 4. The last season was released in 2019. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 4th season production was delayed for a year. Stranger Things has an extraordinary cast, who are talented on their individual work. One of the cast members Finn Wolfhard has provided some hints regarding Stranger Things 4. Finn plays the character of Mike Wheeler, which will be reprised in the upcoming season.

In a recent interview with CBC Radio, Finn Wolfhard described the season 4 as the ‘darkest one’. According to Finn: “Every season it gets darker. Really, I will say with season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there’ll ever be, like the exploding rats and everything. But really, Season 4 so far, it’s the darkest season there’s ever been.”

He also added: “Every year, it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder, and everything. Every year they amp it up.” Actor David Harbour who plays Bill Hopper, said to People that season will largely focus on Hopper’s backstory. He said: “You really do get to see a lot of his backstory of who he was as a warrior in a sense and sort of the mistakes he made in the past come back to visit him.”

Another co-star Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Flenderson told in interviews that this season is getting too slow in production. Gaten told the 4th season shooting is: “a slower process than usual.” He told to People magazine: “Which is really saying something because we take our sweet time making the show anyway. So it’s not as steady-paced or as consistent as I think any of us would like it to be, but we do our best and we’re playing it by ear.”

Release Date

Rumors are Stranger Things season 4 will be get released worldwide on August 2021. The season 3 was released in July 2019. The creators blame the lockdown for these whole delayed schedules. Season 4 filming started on March, but due to the pandemic they stopped shooting. This led the Duffer Brothers to rewrite the whole screenplay.

Executive producer Shawn Levy said: “It impacted every possibility by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot and to have time to rewrite in a way that they really had before.” However Netflix has not announced the official release date, fans need to wait for it.

In the end of season 3, fans have shown that a secret Russia science lab is nursing the Mindflayer creatures as humanlike. Eleven is shifting from Hawking with Will and his family, leaving Mike and his friends alone.

Eventually Hopper has shown dying, but in the official teaser, he is on that secret lab of Russia working as a labor. Though Netflix has not released any other teaser or spoilers yet, but we assume this season will show how those upside down creatures evolves and gets more destructive than ever.

As David Harbour has said, Hopper backstory is one of the major plot points, we can see how he ended up in the lab after the blast. Through Hopper’s storyline many new cast members has joined the show. Mike and Eleven’s long-distance relationship will also be shown alongside Eleven’s struggle to get her power back. Mostly the whole team will end up in Russia.
