Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ceated a huge fan base since its first season aired in 2019. Both anime watchers and critics praised the quality of presentation of action scenes and the overall animation. A movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Train Arc serves as a direct sequel and is also making the same buzz.
Just a few days back, the team not only announced a second season of the series, but also gave us a teaser. Because the movie is still to release in some places, you can rejoice as you will get to see more of Kimetsu no Yaiba this year.
The Basic Plot of Demon Slayer
Tanjiro Kamado is the eldest son and sells charcoal for feeding his family. One day, when he returns home, he finds his entire family mysteriously killed. Shocked, Tanjiro tries to cope with it but notices his sister Nezuko still alive. He carries her and rushes for help. Things take a dramatic turn as Nezuko transforms into a demon and attacks him.
However, Tanjiro manages to bring her round and even protects her from a demon slayer. On realising that Tanjiro needs to cure his sister, the demon slayer helps him join the secret Demon Slayer Corps. In his quest, Tanjiro meets new friends and enemies as he tries to solve the mystery of his family’s murder and Nezuko’s curse.
Season 2 Release Date and First Look
Since the movie is yet to release in Southeast Asian countries and the West, the second season won’t readily arrive. The Infinity Train movie will be releasing this month or slightly later in specific countries. As per the poster, 2021 is certain, so you can expect the second season in fall 2021 or before fall arrives. In other words, October or slightly before that.
The second season will follow the events of the Infinity Train Arc and cover the Entertainment District Arc. Hence, the name Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Inosuke will be working with Sound Pillar Tengen Uzui in their upcoming mission.
Preview Synopsis
There is also a trailer for the second season that has been out. Looking at it, we can see that the setting for this arc will be mainly in the urban area. The first season was mainly set in the woods or houses in the forest. Also, you can see Tengen Uzui will play a more prominent role like Kyojuro Rengoku does in the movie.
Also, you can see a mysterious lady with demonic eyes. It certainly looks like she will be a new enemy. But it is too soon to tell as the first season also had two demon allies. We will have to wait for another trailer to clarify this.
