BenQ X1300i first gaming projector for Xbox series and PS5: Specs, price, and where to buy?

BenQ, a popular Taiwanese technology company seems to live up to its acronym – Bringing Enjoyment N Quality to life. While gaming projectors are not a new thing, the company is ready to introduce a new gaming projector for Xbox Series and PS5 users. Despite the fact that it will have a limited demand – being a gaming projector and that too, for new generation consoles – let’s see what do you get with the new projector.

The New BenQ Gaming Projector – Major Specs

BenQ’s new gaming projector, called the X1300i was originally announced last year. It has a 4LED beamer with native 1080p resolution. The X1300i can effectively support 4K content via its dual HDMI ports and advanced AV controls for game consoles, handheld devices, blu-ray players, and streaming devices.

The projector has a very low latency rate of 8.3ms @120 Hz. Visually, it emits more than 3,000 lumens and has a contrast ratio of 500,000:1. As per the company, this allows to cover 98% of Rec.709 color gamut. In terms of audio, the projector has treVolo 5W speakers.

The X1300i allows you to make audio-visual settings in 3 preset modes – RPG, FPS for First person shooters, and SPG for sports games. Apart from gaming, it also allows you access to various android devices from a single account. You can also access a number of channels like Youtube, NFL, NBA, Amazon Prime, Hulu, CNNgo, Spotify, and more.

BenQ X1300i Price and Where to Buy?

The X1300i will be available for $1,299 in the US, £1,249 in the UK, and $1700 in Australia. You can buy it on Benq.com, Amazon, Best Buy, Insight, B&H Photos, and Adorama.

Is it Worth the Price?

Overall, the X1300i is worth the price, especially if you are a professional gamer. A gaming projector is obviously an extra buy because most buyers have a TV or a gaming monitor. However, it is relatively affordable, compared to its competitors. In a gaming monitor, you will get a refresh rate higher than 120Hz, but the screen is small.

The new projector by BenQ has only a couple of downsides. One is that it lacks native 4K support which may be still manageable. But the other con is that its price is higher than some TVs which support native 4K like the Sony X900H. Although you can compensate this as well since you can maximise your screen at will. All you need is a blank wall for a screen and a PS5 or an Xbox Series X/S.
