Well, who hasn’t heard this name?
Rush Limbaugh is a famous American Man. Limbaugh is a famous American radio personality who is the receiver of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
This famous personality is best known for his radio host. Rush Limbaugh is a host of his radio show ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’.
People were worried when he wasn’t available to do his job as a host this week and they had to call Ken Matthews as his fill-in. Limbaugh missed the taping of his radio show this week on Wednesday and also on Thursday. The Producer of the show James Golden came forward and shared the news that their host is absent because ‘he continues to fight the illness.’
Rush Limbaugh wanted to keep it a secret
This is for those for aren’t aware that Limbaugh is suffering from Lung Cancer since the starting of 2020. In January 2020 he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and then in the February episode of his radio show he revealed that he wanted to keep his illness a secret.
He said, “I wish I didn’t have to tell you this and I thought about not telling anybody. I thought about trying to do this without anybody knowing because I don’t like making things about me. This has happened and my intention is to come here every day I can and to do this program as normally and as competently and as expertly as I do each and every day, because that is the source of my greatest satisfaction, professionally, personally.”
The American author later added, “There are going to be days that I’m not going to be able to be here because I’m undergoing treatment or I’m reacting to treatment.”
After announcing his illness last year he started his treatment then later in October 2020 through his radio show he revealed that he had made some improvement. The Television show host said, “The scans did show some progression of cancer. Now, prior to that, the scans had shown that we had rendered the cancer dormant. That’s my phrase for it. We had stopped the growth. It had been reduced, and it had become manageable. But there’s always the reality and the knowledge that can change and it can come back because it is cancer. It eventually outsmarts pretty much everything you throw at it.”
He later added the impact his illness has left on him. The political commentator said, “It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over. We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it.”
The 70 years old later added, “I feel very blessed to be here speaking with you today. Some days are harder than others. I do get fatigued now. I do get very, very tired now. I’m not gonna mislead you about that. But I am extremely grateful to be able to come here to the studio and to maintain as much normalcy as possible- and it’s still true.”
Let’s travel in past
This is the same guy who denied smoking risks six years ago.
In April 2015 Limbaugh at his show ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ said, “Smokers aren’t killing anybody”. He later added, “I’m just saying there ought to be a little appreciation shown for them, instead of having them hated and reviled. I would like a medal for smoking cigars, is what I’m saying.”
We pray for good health for Rush Limbaugh so that he can get back to his job and can continue entertaining people through his show ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’.
