It is a not new thing that well-known celebrities lost their jobs because of their stupid deeds and studios and productions houses that are employing them are left with no choice but two fire them because they don’t want any harm to their work, name and reputation.
The same thing happened with the martial artist turned actress Gina Carano. Recently this American star was fired by Lucasfilm from her role of Cara Dune from Star Wars Disney+ series The Mandalorian.
On Wednesday night i.e. February 10th Lucasfilm announced that they are going to fire the Gina Carano from the American space western television series The Mandalorian.
Lucasfilm Decision
A spokesperson from Lucasfilm came forward and said in a statement that, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”
Later Lucasfilm representative added, ”Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
What happened?
Lucasfilm took this harsh decision and all this sudden unemployment happened to this American actress because of her controversial posts on her Instagram story. People weren’t happy with the posts that she shared on her social media account as later she deleted all of them but some other account took screenshots of her stories and reposted all of them again.
One of her posts involved Nazis and Jews and it reads “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but their neighbors… even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political view?”
She posted some other disturbing posts that include a quote saying “Expecting everyone you encounter to agree with every belief or view you hold is fucking wild” and another one says “Jeff Epstein didn’t kill himself.”
Her posts received negative reactions from people and whole Wednesday hashtag #FireGianCarano was trending tagging accounts like Disney, Disney Plus, ‘Stars Wars’ and Lucasfilm. By tagging all these accounts people wanted Lucasfilm to drop her from her role of Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune from the series The Mandalorian.
And that happened as after playing this role in season 1 and 2 she won’t be reprising her role. It is sad that she won’t be returning because her role in this Disney+ series was loved by a lot of people.
Her past activities
Last year also in November 2020 she was in the center of the social media controversy as she mocked the wearing of masks during the pandemic and also she shared misinformation about the voter fraud. In November too people backlash her. This internet personality has always been accused of being anti-trans, racist and anti-mask.
A source told the Hollywood reporter that, “They have been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the final straw.” If we believe THR then Carano was all set to star in her own Disney+ series that was Mandalorian spin-off and Disney was all ready to announce it to in December 2020 but cancelled the plans after watching her November tweets.
Well, bad for Gina Carano.
