The fourth episode of Marvel series WandaVision unfolded some mysteries that were hanging on since the beginning. Also, we got some appearances that were meant to happen. We saw Randall Park returning as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo who is working with Geraldine aka Agent Monica.
We also saw Kat Dennings return as Darcy Lewis and investigating the TV signals for WandaVision sitcom. In the end, we find that Wanda created the sitcom illusion, with Vision actually dead as he was. Now, a leak has been surfacing the internet, which almost confirms that Evan Peters is actually appearing in the series.
Evan Peters’ Marvel Connection
Peters has been a part of Marvel movies before. Fans of MCU would instantly remember that he played Quicksilver in the X-Men movies. The movies never became a part of the Universe though. Apart from this, We Got This Covered reported that Peters’ scenes for WandaVision were shot last year.
Rumours about him reprising the role of Quicksilver went viral, but there were speculations that he could play the main villlain of the series, probably Mephisto or Nightmare.
Quicksilver In The MCU
Quicksilver also appeared in MCU, but it was not played by Peters. His Kick-Ass co star Aaron Taylor-Johnson played the speedster in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the second movie, Quicksilver gets killed in action as he saves Hawkeye. His death pushes Wanda in an angry fit, deciding to kill Ultron by herself.
If Quicksilver had to return, it would certainly be in a different way as Peters’ character cannot practically enter the universe directly. It would have been possible had they not killed off in the Ultron movie.
The Leak and What Could it Mean?
Regarding Peters’ rumoured appearance, a couple of clips leaked on Reddit. The leaks were apparently from episode 6. In one of the clips, Wanda is in her Scarlet Witch Halloween outfit. Her son Billy runs to her, telling that dad (Vision) is in trouble. Suddenly, Evan Peters’ character appears, mocking that her husband could not die twice. Obviously, he gets a piece of her in the end.
The clip looks quite convincing. But now the question is, what role he would play? If he plays Quicksilver, considering the mockery in his words, he should be from an alternate reality. This theory could get in line with the multiverse concept that Marvel is working on. Another theory suggests he could play Speed, another speedster from the comics.
But since the world is Wanda’s creation, it could be Mephisto or Nightmare shapeshifting and manipulating with Wanda’s mind. The reason her brother looks different could simply be a recast. Remember Mark Ruffalo replacing Edward Norton as Hulk? And Don Cheadle too.
