It’s been nearly 4 years since the last season of Teen Wolf got released. In September 2017, the 2nd part of Teen Wolf season 6 was released on MTV. Since then, fans are eagerly waiting for their favorite show to come back for another season. But likely, it seems there won’t be Teen Wolf Season 7 or Is it. Let us discuss that, shall we?
Teen Wolf Season 7 Updates
The website TEEN WOLF WIKI clearly states that- ” There is no Teen Wolf season 7.” Because MTV has officially canceled the show and creator Jeff Davis also clarified that.
In 2016, San Diego Comic-Con, show-maker Jeff Davis, told- “Teen Wolf has been an extraordinary journey, one that captured the hearts and imaginations of fans more than we could’ve ever imagined.”

He also added,- “We’re eternally grateful for the support we’ve received over these past six years and we’re excited to take our brave fans to one last, thrilling adventure.”
As for the official circumstances- ViacomCBS(MTV) has no longer the right to make new episodes of Teen Wolf. Though MGM has the movie rights. But MGM wants to bring back the television show, they will need to bring MTV on track. Otherwise, they must recreate the whole series.
Rumors on Season 7
There were many rumors spread about the new season arrives. Even a fake trailer was launched in November 2020 by a fake MTV YouTube channel. That trailer went viral and made fans think Teen Wolf season 7 is going to release.
There was another rumor spread after Teen Wolf’s original cast was reunited by MTV over a Zoom meeting. The in-call meeting happened in June 2020. These reunions caused netizens to think that MTV is talking with the cast about Teen Wolf Season 7.

Teen Wolf Reboot
There are still chances of bringing Teen Wolf back as a reboot. Ex-president of MTV Chris McCarthy told in an interview that, Teen Wolf might get continued in a podcast reboot form.
McCarthy told Hollywood Reporter: “We are talking with Jeff about how we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series podcast and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple of years.” Although this interview happened before the release of Teen Wolf season 6. Since then no progress has been made for the podcast.
As for 2020, there are rumored discussions about a reboot television season. TEEN WOLF WIKI has provided details about their interview with Jeff Davis.
In November 2020, Jeff told TEEN WOLF WIKI: “Yes, I have discussed with MGM, who want it to happen[emphasis added]. This would have to be a complete reboot. Any characters, stories, or mythology from the original MTV show, would require MTV & MGM to come to some sort of agreement. I haven’t heard anything about that.”
Lastly, fans have to wait for any further official statement from MTV, MGM, or creator Jeff Davis himself to clarify future updates.
