Dafne Maria Keen Fernández was born in Madrid, Spain on January 4, 2005. Her father, Will Keen, is also a British Actor and has worked with her. Her mother Maria Fernández Ache is a Galician actress, a theater director and a writer. She is a niece of poet Alice Oswald and writer Laura Beatty.
Keen speaks English and Spanish fluently. Prior to her acting career, she took dancing and gymnastics. She also practices acrobatics and acapella singing.
The Beginning of Her Career
Keen began her acting career with the 2015 British-Spanish miniseries The Refugees. She played Ana “Ani” Cruz Oliver along with her father Will, who played Samuel Cruz in the series. She did not take any acting projects for a couple of years after that.
In 2017, Keen starred alongside Hugh Jackman in the movie Logan. She played a young mutant Laura, who possessed the same abilities as Wolverine had, including the signature retractable claws. The movie was greatly appreciated by the audience and critics, praising Keen’s performance in particular.
Keen was also nominated for several awards and earned Empire awards for Best Newcomer; plus an MTV award with Hugh Jackman for Best Duo.

Since 2019, Dafne Keen plays the role of Lyra Belacqua, the protagonist of the HBO series His Dark Materials. The show is an adaptation of Philip Pullman’s novel trilogy. Her performance was appreciated here as well, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru Award.
She also appeared in the 2020 movie Ana, where he played the protagonist along with Andy Garcia. She is also quite active on her Instagram, which has more than 350k followers. Her estimated net worth is said to be $2.5 million as of now, her earnings being $150k – $950k per month.
