Steve Sarkisian has been appointed as a head football coach for Texas Longhorns.

Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is the newly appointed head coach of the Texas Longhorns. He has joined the team on Saturday, 2nd January 2021. The University of Texas at Austin has announced the news on their official Twitter handle for sports named- Texas Football.
Steve Sarkisian: The New Head Coach of Longhorns
Sarkisian recently got the title of top college football assistant coach at the Broyles Award. He assisted the team- Crimson Tide in the finals and won the 2020 National Championship.
Some of the major official spokespeople of the Texas University Austin, wrote a letter to the Longhorns teams to announce the news on their website. Kevin Eltife, chairman of UT System Board of Regents said- “We are excited to have Steve Sarkisian join us and lead the next chapter of our football program…”
President Jay Hartzell wrote- Hiring Steve Sarkisian represents a critical investment in our program’s future, not just for our student-athletes but for all of Longhorn Nation…”
In a reply Sarkisian gave a heartfelt-note by remembering his early days as a coach: “On Jan 4. 2006, I was the USC Quarterback coach when we played Texas in that famed National Championship game.
There has always been something special about Longhorn football, it’s history and tradition- not just on that day- and I could never have imagined that 15 years later I would join the Longhorns at their head coach.”
Early Career
Sarkisian has a good track record as a college head football coach and as an offensive coordinator. He assisted in Division I college and the ex-head coach of the NFL. He is also very experienced on this field, he nurtured three Heisman Trophy finalists out of his coaching.
Sarkisian had a vast coaching career. Before joining the Longhorns head coach, Sarkisian was in Alabama in 2019. He was in the Atlanta Falcons for 2 years as an offensive coordinator.
In the University of Southern California, he was appointed as an assistant and head coach. He was also the head coach for 5 years in the University of Washington. He had an all-over record in head coaching of 46-35 and 2-2 in bowl games.
