Aubrey Plaza unites with Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s Thriller

Guy Ritchie’s untitled thriller, starring Jason Statham as the lead character, welcomes another addition to its team. As per the news, Aubrey Plaza would join the main cast. The actress was recently seen as Riley Johnson in the romantic comedy Happiest Season. Both the movie and her performance was well-received by critics.

About Ritchie’s Untitled Thriller

Ritchie’s thriller movie, once titled ‘Five Eyes’, would feature Statham as agent Orson Fortune. He is recruited by an intelligence organization ‘Five Eyes’ to track down the sale of a new, lethal weapon that could adversely affect the ever-delicate world order. He is joined by a CIA expert. Together, they embark on the mission which also involves infiltrating a billionaire arms dealer.

Guy Ritchie would be producing and directing the film. The screenplay is written by Ivan Atkinson, who is also the co-producer, and Marn Davies. The production and financing is being handled by Miramax, with STX handling the distribution of the movie.

Statham and Ritchie’s Reunion

This is not the first time Statham and Ritchie are working together. Statham debuted with Ritchie’s 1998 flick Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. The movie was also Ritchie’s debut feature film. After this, they have worked together in movies like Snatch (2000) and Revolver (2005). Statham will also be seen as Harry ‘H’, in Ritchie’s latest upcoming Wrath of Man.

Aubrey Plaza’s Upcoming

Aubrey Plaza is best known for her work in ‘Parks and Recreation’ where she played April Ludgate. She also worked in the FX drama series ‘Legion’ and in the 2017 movie, Ingrid Goes West, which she also produced.

Apart from Ritchie’s untitled thriller movie, the Happiest Season star was recently seen in Black Bear, co-starring Christopher Abbott, Sarah Gadon, and Paula Lazaro. She will be seen in Lina Roessler’s Best Sellers, a comedy-drama that also features Michael Caine, famous for playing Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy.

Plaza will also be voicing Pine Cone in King Knight and Brain in The Ark and The Aardvark.
