Microsoft is introducing Xbox’s cloud gaming services, Xcloud to a wide range of devices including iOS and PC next year. This will be similar to the way Google Stadia cloud gaming services work.
This project is called Project xCloud. This allows you to play Xbox games on non-Xbox devices. Xbox cloud gaming will not require a separate subscription. On new devices, you will soon be able to launch a game from a PC. These services will be available on Xbox App and using a web browser.
This will be a very convenient form of gaming as it will not require you to download large files and install them before playing the game. It will be particularly useful for people who do not have a powerful GPU in their device. All the data processing occurs on the cloud system that companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia have heavily invested in.
This service will also require an extremely fast internet connection of at least 10Mbps.
New Games Coming to Xbox In 2021
Microsoft has announced new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2021:
- Halo Infinite
- The Ascent
- Psychonauts 2
- The Medium
- The Gunk
- Warhammer 40K: Darktide
- Scorn
- Exomecha
- The Good Life
- Skatebird
- Dead Static Drive
You need to be located near a data center to reduce latency. So Xbox cloud gaming will be accessible only in a few countries – most parts of the U.S., Canada, parts of Europe, and South Korea.
Microsoft is expanding this to new markets and opening more data centers. So, this service can be soon expected to be available in Australia, Brazil, Japan and Mexico.
