As the next summer is approaching very fast and the release date of Fast and Furious 9 is almost here we have some news for you. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham won’t be the part of the next film. Read this to know the reasons.
The reason behind the “Jumanji” star absence
This wrestler turned actor joined this famous action film franchise “Fast and Furious” in the year 2011. He made his debut in this blockbuster franchise through “Fast 5”. And from this movie of Fast and Furious this Rampage actor has earned a lot of respect for his role of Luke Hobbs who was a US agent and also a bounty hunter.
This former wrestler took the whole fandom of the franchise on a different level. Since appearing in Fast and Furious movies for the first time in 2011, he has appeared in five Fast and Furious movies which also involved a spin-off on Johnson’s character Hobbs know as “Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw”. This movie was a huge success and ranked in the top 10 highest-grossing movies in the year 2019. But there is sad news that “The Rock” won’t be appearing in Fast and furious 9 which is going to hit the cinemas in coming summers. There are two reasons behind it:
– The 48 years old star won’t be a part of the next Fast and Furious movie because the wrapping up of “Hobbs and Shaw” movie clashed with the starting production of the ninth installment of the franchise. And there are chances that he might be busy with the sequel of the Hobbs and Shaw.
– The other reason why San Andreas star won’t be a part of the next movie is because of his controversies with the main man of Fast and Furious movie Mr Vin Diesel. It was around the time of the premiere of “The Fate and Furious” in the year 2017. It was clear that things aren’t well between the two handsome hunks as both of them said wrong things and both of them shaded it each other.
The reason behind “The Expendables” star absence
The awesome Jason Statham who plays a character of Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious movies won’t be a part of Fast and Furious 9. Yes, I know it is said because of the impact he had left in every movie. First portraying the character of a villain then turned into a good man who makes people hate him when he was a villain and also loves him when there was a transition in his character. Whatever character he played everything was perfect. But sadly he won’t be a part of the next movie.
He was a part of “Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw” alongside the journey star. That movie was such a hit that it was the fourth highest-grossing movie in the whole franchise. The reason behind the absence of The transporter star is the same as Dwayne’s reason. He won’t be a part because there are chances that he might be busy with the next part of the Hobbs and Shaw.

During the 2019 interview with the MTC News, the Baywatch star clearly said,” The plan has always been for the Fast and Furious universe to grow and expand”. The Skyscraper star further added, “As of now, we (Hobbs and Shaw) aren’t in Fast 9 because they’re getting ready to start shooting.”
