Could Nicolas Cage Join the MCU as Ghost Rider

Several rumors have been circulating that the MCU is trying to get Nicholas Cage to reprise his role as the Ghost Rider.

Though the rights to the movies have belonged to Marvel for many years, there has not been any word about the reboot of Ghost Rider.

Keanu Reeves rumored to play the role

Till now there were many speculations as to which actor will be considered for the role. Johnny Depp was also one of them.

The next actor rumored to play the role of Ghost Rider is the John Wick star, Keanu Reeves.

But right now, insider Roger Wardell stated on Twitter that the Marvel Studios want Nicholas Cage to come back as the Ghost Rider.

There is no arguing over the point that no one can play the role better than Cage.

Marvel approached Cage to reprise the role as Ghost Rider

Being a comic book fan himself, Nicholas Cage readily accepted the Johnny Blaze part back in the 2007 Marvel movie Ghost Rider. He came back in 2011 with the sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. However, he was not seen after that.

Read out what Wardell said about Cage potentially returning:

“Nicolas Cage was approached by Marvel to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze in the MCU. It is also worth to mention here that “Guardian’s Inferno” song from GOTG Vol. 2 contained a reference for a character called The Orb – mercenary and a member of Ghost Rider Assassination League.”

But the question here is do they want him to reprise the main role? Or do they want him to just be a part of the multitude of ghost riders?

A female Ghost Rider to come in

As mentioned before, some seem to think that Keanu Reeves might take up the act. Meanwhile, some others think that MCU wants a woman to fill in the official character. According to some reports, Stephanie Beatriz well known for playing Detective Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will probably take up the role as the female Ghost Rider. Even so, we do not have any proof to support the statement.

It also seems that Marvel already has its eyes on one Ghost Rider in the form of Robbie Reyes.

One more intriguing question is that if this would make Cage’s Ghost Rider movies a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We certainly have many unanswered questions that desperately need answers.
