The Witcher Season 2 is coming soon on Netflix. Even though there isn’t any release date, Netflix hasn’t stopped teasing us with new images.
Some of the details, that we know for sure is that the convoluted storytelling of Season 1 won’t be followed in Season2. Since Geralt and Ciri have met at the ending of Season 2, there won’t be any more timeline jumps.
Release date
The Witcher Season 2 will release in 2021. The exact date, we don’t know that. Due to the pandemic, the shooting had paused, and because of it, the release date might have been pushed further down, than intended.
Cast
The trio from all the original seasons will obviously return. Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri.
But there are some rumors that three new witchers are also joining the cast. They include Lambert, played by Paul Bullion, and Coen, played by Yasen Atour. For the third one, there was a report that stated Joel Adrian will play Henrik. Apart from them, there are also more rumors and speculations regarding the cast. For example, there was a rumor that said, Swiss Actor Basil Eidenbenz was cast to play Eskel.
Other things that we know
As far as the story goes, it of course is based on the book and games. So, you can find details about it somewhere on the net. So, let’s not get into it.
But what according to me was the most interesting piece of news was that a prequel to the Witcher Series is coming. Yes, you heard it right. Netflix has announced The Witcher: Blood Origin, a six-part prequel series about the first Witcher.
There were also some rumors about a Witcher animated movie. And also Season 3 of The Witcher looks confirmed too. In fact, it seems Witcher is going to stay on Netflix for a long time.
