Oneplus has launched its new OnePlus 8T. There are quite a lot of changes when compared to the OnePlus 8. But at the same time, there isn’t much. It’s quite confusing but, worry not. I am here to list down all that has changed and all that has stayed the same.

Design

So, first, let’s talk about design. From, the front there isn’t much of a change. Both the devices have minimal bezels, with a punch-hole camera on the top left corner. The difference is in the screen-to-body ratio. The OnePlus 8T has a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio.

On the back, though the difference is quite apparent. OnePlus 8T has a different camera module. It has a square-shaped module and is placed at the top left corner. Both the mobiles have a glass back, but the colors differ. The 8T is also marginally larger than the OnePlus 8.

Screen

Resolution wise the screen is the same in both. The difference however is in the refresh rate. OnePlus 8 had a 90Hz refresh rate while the 8T has a 120Hz refresh rate screen.

Camera

On the camera front, the OnePlus 8T has an additional lens in the form of a monochrome camera. The macro camera in the 8T is 5MP while the 8 had a 2MP macro camera. And the wide-angle camera has a wider field of view.

There are also some software improvements like- improved low-light photos and video stabilization.

Both the phones are powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset. Both of them also come with similar RAM and storage options. However, the Oneplus 8T uses UFS 3.1 storage, while the OnePlus 8 had UFS 3.0 storage. Both also have the same software.

Conclusion

So, as it’s evident now, that OnePlus 8T doesn’t bring any major update over the OnePlus 8. If you already have the OnePlus 8, there is no need to update. But, if you are looking to buy a new phone and are deciding between these two. Then, the ‘T’ model, is a better option.
