Amazon.com Inc started developing its first-ever video game. They stared the development of the video game a few years back. It was a budget video-game named Crucible, which highlighted the online retailers continued struggle in order to make headway in the industry.
“We didn’t see a healthy, sustainable future ahead of Crucible,” AMazon in a blog post on Friday
Amazon also has revealed that the team which was working on the game will be moved to other upcoming gaming projects. Whereas, the people who had invested in the game will be getting full refunds.
What Is Crucible?
Crucible was under development for Amazon’s gaming divisions formed in 2012. It was the key test for the same. The game (Crucible) was launched in May and had terrible reviews. The reviews were so bad that Amazon made the game invite-only. Before plans for Crucible were even released, the company had already cancelled a game which was joining to launch before Crucible. The cancellation of the previous game resulted in some people losing their jobs in the games unit.
“This has been a labor of love, and we’re grateful for the time we got to spend on planet Crucible with you,” Amazon wrote in the blog.
The team which has been moved to a different project will now be focusing on a new game. The game will be called “New World.” More information about this game is further ahead in the article. Amazon earlier revealed that the game “New World” will be released on August 2020, but now the date has been pushed back to 2021.
Negative Reviews On Crucible
Crucible was supposed to be one of the key tests for Amazon’s gaming unit. This gaming unit was founded in the year 2012. The game Crucible launched in the year 2012, and the ratings were horrible. The game was launched in May 2012. A month later (in June) Amazon made the game Crucible invite-only closed beta.
New World
Now that Crucible game doesn’t exist anymore, the team has been given a new project. The new project is reportedly called “New World.” This was initially going to be released in the year 2020, in August. However, due to unknown reasons, the release of the game has now been pushed back to the year 2021.

What Was The Game Crucible Like?
Crucible was a third-person shooter game. It is a free to play shooter game developed and published by Relentless Studios. Relentless Studios is a subsidiary of Amazon Game Studio. Crucible is Amazon’s first major original title game published by their gaming division. This was previously focused on tablet games.
