Far Cry 6 takes place in the fictional Caribbean country, Yara. The country is completely chaotic, filled with riots to oust the evil dictator El Presidente from power.
The trailer for Far Cry 6 introduced the dictator, Anton Castillo, and his son Diego. Anton is teaching his son to keep a tight hold on his people with the help of a grenade. Quite a weird way to teach a 13-year-old.
You will be playing as a revolutionary named, Dani Rojas. You can choose to be either man or a woman ( A good move by Ubisoft). The game is set in Yara which Ubisoft says is inspired by Cuba. Just like how in Far Cry 5, you could hire buddies to fight for you. Far Cry 6 will allow you to do the same.
The story
As mentioned above, in Far Cry 6, you will be fighting in a revolution against Anton Castillo. He has been in power for 50 years. In the trailer, the riots looked intense. The government’s people were armed and the civilians had explosives. Ubisoft told that Anton saw his own father being executed 50 years ago. This shaped his policies and views and he wants to pass it on to his son. According to him, the Castillos not only deserve to rule Yara but are also essential in turning the country into a paradise.
There are also some fans who believe that Diego is actually Vaas Montenegro from Far Cry 3. But nothing much has been confirmed by Ubisoft as of now.
Far Cry 6 is releasing on Feb 18th, 2021, and will be available on PC, Stadia, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
