Call of Duty: Warzone is a free to play battle royale game published by Activision and developed by Raven Software and Infinity Ward. It is enjoyed by almost 75 million gamers across the world. It seems that it is trying to imitate PUBG and Fortnite by trying to extend its reach by entering the mobile platform.
The many hints from the job listing
Activision recently posted a job listing for the title “Executive Producer, Features (WZM)”. Here WZM is basically an acronym for Warzone Mobile. The company dropped yet another hint. It says that it might be available on mobile by stating “a new AAA mobile FPS” in the job description.
Call of Duty: Warzone is currently an F2P on PC and consoles. It is a battle royale game that has become popular worldwide since its release in March previously this year.
Furthermore, the position which is filled now requires to work on a new AAA mobile FPS game for the Call of Duty franchise. The description also had the following statement, “Harvest, adapt, and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation.” And more and more suggestions like serving as a primary point of contact on Warzone Mobile leadership team.
These are all like green signals to a mobile version of the Call of Duty: Warzone which is right now under development.
However, a nonplussing aspect is that Call of Duty already has a free to play mobile app. It is so renowned that there were a whopping 100 million downloads in only the first week of its release. So maybe the two versions might be totally isolated from each other. The Warzone mobile game might be an actual thing. Consequently, CoD might have two versions of mobile apps active simultaneously.
This may even echo the success that Fortnite has achieved.
Launch Date not confirmed yet
There has not yet been an official statement or a confirmation regarding the release date or the name. For all we know, it might not even launch this year.
