WandaVision is the Only Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 Project to Release in 2020, Disney Confirms

2020 has been an unpleasantly awful year for all the movie-goers and TV shows enthusiasts. Several productions were either halted or delayed due to the health concerns brought up by coronavirus. Marvel Studios also has been affected by the situation and they have suspended the production or delayed the releases date of upcoming projects.

When the production company announced that they have halted the production of the upcoming web series, fans thought that the WandaVision too could be delayed to 2021. Thankfully, that’s not the case — at least for WandaVision. Disney’s streaming platform Disney + recently released a promo video featuring various TV shows and movies that are coming to the platform this year. Among the titles, was much-awaited limited series WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.

The promotional video, however, doesn’t reveal the exact release date but you can expect this year. The Mandalorian is also hitting the platform from October 30. Disney probably wouldn’t release two titles together, so we can expect the WandaVision by late November or in Christmas 2020.

Marvel Studio’s WandaVision

WandaVision is the new limited series from the Marvel Studios. The production company announced the limited series last year in San Diego Comic-Con. As the series will take place in the same universe as Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actors portraying the titular characters will be the same.

The reports claim that the events will take place after 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff, will move into suburban life with her android and AI love interest, Vision. Sources reveal that the six-episode limited series will be inspired by the older family sitcoms. In a recent interview, Elizabeth Olsen reportedly revealed a major hint regarding the upcoming series.

WandaVision will reportedly explain how Wanda Maximoff transformed into Scarlet Witch. Wanda Maximoff didn’t use the name Scarlet Witch in the movies. The limited series will also serve prologue to upcoming MCU movie, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of the Madness. Olsen will appear as Scarlet Witch in the Doctor Strange sequel.
